Just a stone’s throw from the Humboldt Forum, ‘the Alex’ (Alexanderplatz) and the Hackesche Höfe courtyard complex is the classic Hotel Alexander Plaza. Behind its historic façade, Brumann, as the planner and general contractor, has implemented a comprehensive programme to beautify the public areas and the wellness area. This classic building dates from the Gründerzeit, the period of rapid expansion of German industry at the end of the nineteenth century, and is protected as a historical edifice, so the stringent regulations made it necessary to harmoniously combine the historical building with contemporary interior design.
As part of an overall phased renovation, the spa area in the basement of the hotel was first extensively renovated and completely refurnished. The next step was the complete reconstruction of the ground floor. The entrance area of the boutique hotel is now in the style of an open lobby, with a new stylish reception desk, large lounge area, cosy business corner and with the breakfast room located in the atrium, which is flooded with light.
Elegant, comfortable seating areas invite you to linger and underline the guiding principle of the space being a community space. Also new is the deli, serving drinks, snacks and light fare. The many lush green plants complete the harmonious colour concept, well designed room layout and high-quality furnishings, turning the ground floor of this historic hotel into a welcoming, green oasis and a stylish retreat in the hustle and bustle of Berlin-Mitte.
