Munich in the late 1970s and 1980s: it was Disco Fever and partying all the way. Freddie Mercury of Queen loved the wild Munich night life so much that, from 1979 to 1985, he maintained his own flat in the district of Glockenbach. Today, the glam rock star could simply stay in Perlach – in the newly-designed ibis Styles.

Because the themed hotel, designed and implemented by Brumann, brings the lifestyle of this era into the here and now. Neon lettering and mirror elements, poufs made of silver imitation leather and dazzling sequined cushions, flamboyant decorative objects such as iridescent roller skates and porcelain big cats with glittery collars: in the ibis Style, guests are surrounded by the look of the hottest clubs frequented by the smart party set.

The hotel’s room design and furnishings revive the iconic “Memphis” style celebrated in the 80s: the 172 rooms are dominated by geometric shapes and colourful surfaces. Purple and magenta elements create powerful contrasts with the bright red and blue of the ceilings and walls. White-patterned surfaces and bright floor coverings with vibrant graphic patterns complete the intense spatial experience of a spectacular journey through time.

Brumann brought the interior concept to life with sample rooms and planning before proceeding to the implementation stage. In all the rooms, in the lobby and lounge, in the public and dining areas, we carried out the carpentry work and provided the furnishings, decorative lighting and textiles.

An exceptional project, which was highly enjoyable for our décor specialists in particular – the entire Brumann team says Thank You and Disco Disco!
