A successful symbiosis of appealing cosiness and inspiring architecture: this was the leitmotif for the renovation of the Marriott Stuttgart-Sindelfingen, in which Brumann acted as the planner and general contractor. Like many of our clients, the Marriott management decided to renovate this 4-star hotel in stages.

In the first construction phase, all rooms of the hotel were thoroughly renovated and refurbished on a floor-by-floor basis. In the second construction phase, we implemented the complete redesign of the ground floor, including the lobby, lounge and bar. Our design is based on the structural power of linear elements. Dividing walls, partitions and shelving with long, vertical, squared oak timbers emphasise the splendid height of the building, while a support structure divides the space horizontally. The height and generous dimensions of the lobby are emphasised by different perspectives and open elements, while at the same time giving a sense of security, intimacy and warmth. Furniture and floor coverings divide the enormous area into different function spots – casual seating and lounge chairs convey urban cosiness, and the aqua palette and touches of lemon yellow form accents amidst the wood tones and restful neutrals. A striking filigree light installation gives structure to the space above. In the reception area, the strip lighting and wall decor invoke the data streams of the third millennium. In the last construction phase, the restaurant and buffet area were renovated and refurbished.

This was a complete makeover characterised by harmony and consistency for the four-star hotel in ‘Benztown’ (as Stuttgart is known), which we, as the planner and general contractor, were able to implement within budget and on schedule.
