For the expansion of the ATLANTIC Grand Hotel Bremen, Brumann handled the design, construction planning, and the development and manufacture of the furnishings. The scope of services also included the planning of the new fitness area, which complements the hotel’s four-star superior offerings for business and leisure travelers. Following an intensive planning phase, during which sample rooms were also developed, the project was completed within three months.
The expansion includes 95 superior double rooms, three junior suites, one suite, and one grand suite. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer sweeping views of Böttcherstraße and the historic old town. The interior concept captures this special “right in the heart of it all” feeling and translates it into a subtly elegant, Hanseatic-inspired design. Inspiration is drawn from the city’s maritime trading history: associations with rum, coffee, and exotic spices, as well as wood-paneled trading offices, brass, and patina form the foundation for a timeless, high-quality aesthetic.
Ship decking made of natural oak meets dark-stained furniture in a clear, classically geometric design language. Wall paneling with indirect lighting strips creates a warm atmosphere whose intensity can be individually adjusted. The matte-gold silhouette of the Bremen Town Musicians appears as a subtle reference to the city.
The junior suites and the suite on the seventh floor feature private balconies and offer spacious retreats ranging from 37 to 44 square meters above the rooftops of the old town. High-quality fabrics, fine woods, and comfortable armchairs define the atmosphere. The highlight is the Grand Suite with a 70-square-meter rooftop terrace offering sweeping views of Bremen.
