Atlantic Hotel Münster

Nestled between modern urban developments and historic architecture, centrally located on the Promenade—the bustling green belt of downtown—the Atlantic Hotel Münster has emerged as a new hotspot.  Brumann was commissioned as the general contractor for interior construction and FF&E for the new building, which features 224 rooms, a ballroom, restaurant, sky bar, conference rooms, and a spa & wellness area. The interior design concept was created by OlufemiMoser from Munich, and was jointly optimized for cost-effectiveness and functionality by both firms during the detailed design and construction phases.

The seven-story building was designed by the Münster-based architectural firm Kresings, which created a modern hotel featuring a light, curved three-dimensional façade and floor-to-ceiling windows all around, quickly becoming a visual highlight in the surrounding area. A cubic rooftop terrace that extends beyond the ridge offers a view across the promenade to the church towers and over the city’s rooftops. The building received the international LOOP Design Award for its unique architectural concept.

The special charm of the location inspired OlufemiMoser to create an elegant, modern interior concept that blends classic Westphalian references with vibrant urbanity into an eclectic mix of styles. Thus, the typical hallway of Westphalian farmhouses served as inspiration for the large, open ground floor: Delicate wooden structures, reminiscent of stud framing, divide the space into functional zones; and the open grill in the ATLANTIC Grillroom’s front-cooking restaurant evokes the image of a traditional hearth, around which tables are grouped in a geometric pattern against red brick walls. Combined with contemporary designer furniture, a co-working zone, and the freestanding reception desk, the result is a harmonious and innovative stylistic ensemble.

The 224 rooms and suites impress with all the amenities of contemporary 4-star superior comfort: fine parquet flooring, natural materials, and color harmonies of earth tones and neutrals make them warm, relaxing retreats. On the top floor, the hotel offers another spectacular highlight alongside the 380-square-meter “Engelsaal” with state-of-the-art event technology: The ATLANTIC Skybar. Set in an elegant ambience of dark blue velvet and shimmering brass details. An attraction that delights not only out-of-town guests but also the people of Münster themselves, and has quickly become the city’s new hotspot.
