Located directly on the Elbe River, the Bilderberg Bellevue Hotel offers its guests a fantastic view of Dresden’s Old Town. The former Westin Bellevue Hotel underwent a renovation prior to its rebranding. Commissioned by Event Hospitality Management Holding and the First Sponsor Group, Brumann served as the general contractor for interior construction and FFE in 2019, carrying out work on 326 rooms and suites.
The historic Baroque building was expanded in the 1980s to include two large wings and extensive gardens, and is now an integral part of the cityscape. Guests enjoy a unique view of the downtown skyline: Directly across from the hotel are the Hofkirche and the famous Semperoper. The Dresden Royal Palace, the Frauenkirche, and many other sights in Dresden’s Old Town are also just a short walk across the Augustus Bridge.
During the hotel’s comprehensive renovation, the Cologne-based firm brandherm + krumrey designed the interior concept. The international clientele and their diverse needs were to be provided with a cozy retreat through individually designed spaces. Thus, the interior impresses with timeless elegance that complements the building’s classic flair: leather and wood accentuate the calm color palette of delicate cream tones, natural shades, and cognac hues, while indirect lighting casts elegant highlights on the brass accents. A special feature is the generous upholstered benches, which, together with colorful cushions and vases, enhance the cozy atmosphere.
Brumann carried out the renovation work and the interior fit-out, furnishing, and decoration in two consecutive construction phases, which proceeded very smoothly and without a hitch despite the partially historic building structure and ongoing hotel operations.
