"Champions" is a true sports bar!

Following extensive renovations, "Champions" at the Marriott Hotel Munich is now welcoming its international guests with a new design and food concept. Here, American spirit meets Bavarian hospitality. Following the completion of the Greatroom (the lobby) as a joint project in 2023, BRUMANN took on the entire planning of the interior design and technical systems for ‘Champions’—Marriott’s sports bar brand—and was responsible for the complete renovation in the fall of 2024.

BRUMANN’s final design combines elements of a traditional sports bar with modern materials in an industrial style. Expanded metal, for example, was used as a recurring design element in the ceiling, railings, and bar areas. The lockers, which resemble those in a sports locker room, are also designed in the industrial style. In contrast to the metals, yet serving as a harmonious complement, natural materials such as solid wood, upholstered furniture in warm colors, and muted wall colors are used.

To create a compelling narrative, BRUMANN sourced numerous authentic sports photos, autographed jerseys from various sports legends, accessories, original newspaper articles, and nostalgic sports equipment through various auctions and personal contacts, all of which ‘Champions’ to create an exclusive atmosphere. In addition to these highlights, BRUMANN handled the entire kitchen and bar planning, as well as the media technology for the three large screens and ten TV monitors, and—last but not least—collaborated with our partners on the lighting design to create the right ambiance.

With a modern interior, nearly 130 different seating options—including cozy nooks and a large community table—as well as stylish lighting, BRUMANN has created an open, inviting atmosphere that serves as an ideal meeting place for anyone looking to spend time with friends, family, or colleagues in a genuine sports bar setting.
