GHotel hotel&living Würzburg

More than just a successful facelift for the GHotel hotel & living in Würzburg. Interior design and general contractor services all under one roof. Following a 12-month project phase, all 204 rooms and suites across 17 floors, as well as all public areas and conference rooms, were modernized on schedule in March 2024 and handed over to the operating company Chocolate on the Pillow.

With its elliptical glass façade, the hotel stands out in Würzburg’s cityscape as one of the tallest buildings and offers guests in the upper suites breathtaking panoramic views of the city and surrounding countryside. The Franconian region is known for its wine heritage, and so the interior concept plays with diverse associations related to wine. Earthy tones and a mix of various shades of blue and red, artwork, and wall panels visually represent the different wine aromas. The many interlocking elements invite guests’ eyes to wander, discovering all the details and allusions—much like the region’s wine trails, depicted on various wallpapers. In the lobby and lounge area, this creates a cozy, inviting ambiance that offers plenty of space yet, thanks to the choice of materials and acoustic elements, simultaneously fosters a warm, welcoming atmosphere for guests. In the adjacent restaurant area as well, the existing spatial divisions were integrated into the overall concept using new cladding elements, allowing guests to enjoy a sense of togetherness in their own private atmosphere even during peak occupancy.

Based on the model room, Brumann carried out the modernization of the 204 rooms and suites. Themed around wine, the design concept was continued throughout the rooms. Wooden elements, warm color tones, and artwork motifs give each room an individual character with its own identity and design statement.

A digital and visual highlight in the lobby area is the self-check-in system featuring the avatar “Fritz,” also designed by Brumann in collaboration with Humanizing Technologies. Fritz can handle routine tasks in multiple languages—such as check-in, check-out, and answering service inquiries—thereby offering guests 24-hour service and providing the hotel with a charming and supportive digital solution.
