Even legends grow old: The InterContinental Hotel Berlin was long considered the most modern hotel in Europe—Brumann is currently working to restore the hotel, located in the heart of the capital, to its former glory as a premier hospitality destination. As the general contractor, we have already implemented our modernization plans in the rooms and suites of one section of the hotel.
Planned and built in 1958 as a Hilton Hotel, the property with its distinctive checkerboard façade was considered the most modern hotel in Europe when it opened. Its scale continues to set standards today: with 558 rooms and 34 event spaces, it is one of Germany’s largest hotels and consistently ranks among the top ten nationwide in terms of revenue. Its Marlene Bar is an institution of Berlin’s nightlife, its Michelin-starred restaurant a must-visit for international gourmets, and its guest list a who’s who of world politics.
