A successful blend of inviting comfort and inspiring architecture. That was the guiding principle behind the renovation of the Marriott Stuttgart-Sindelfingen. In several construction phases beginning in 2015, BRUMANN, acting as general contractor for interior construction and FF&E on behalf of the Marriott International Group, carried out the modernization of 260 rooms and suites as well as the public areas while the hotel remained open for business. The interior design was created by the partner firm OlufemiMoser from Munich, which was continuously adapted and optimized by both firms throughout the multi-year project phase during the detailed design and implementation.
In the first construction phase, all of the hotel’s rooms were thoroughly renovated and refurnished floor by floor. Muted colors and fine materials make the rooms appear larger, an effect enhanced by reducing the heights of shelves and cabinets and creating fluid transitions. The complete redesign of the ground floor, including the lobby, lounge, and bar, took place starting in 2018. The design relies on the structuring power of linearity. Partition walls, dividing elements, and shelves emphasize the building’s generous height with vertical, extra-long oak beams, while a beam structure divides the space horizontally. Open views and transparency highlight the lobby’s height and spaciousness—while simultaneously conveying a sense of security, intimacy, and warmth. Furniture and flooring subdivide the enormous floor area into functional zones: casual seating and lounge chairs convey urban coziness, while aqua tones and splashes of lemon yellow add accents to the color scheme dominated by wood and calm neutrals. A delicate yet striking lighting installation structures the space vertically. In the reception area, light strips and wall decorations design-wise reference the data streams of the 3rd millennium. The final construction phase ultimately involved the remodeling and renovation of the restaurant and buffet area.
A thoroughly harmonious facelift for the four-star hotel in “Benztown,” which was completed to the hotel operator’s satisfaction with the final work in the lobby area in 2019. Following the main project, Brumann carried out a further modernization of the wellness area in 2025.
