In 2014, the 5-star superior Severins’s Resort & Spa opened on Sylt on the eastern outskirts of Keitum after nearly 12 years of planning. The hotel complex, developed and operated by the Zech Group, covers anarea of30,000m².Brumann was commissioned as the general contractor for interior construction and FFE and, together with project partner OlufemiMoser from Munich—who designed the interior concept—continuously optimized individual areas of the spacious complex during the planning and execution phases.
On Sylt, particular emphasis is placed on high-quality architecture. The hotel complex, generously planned by a local architect and offering a fantastic view of the Wadden Sea, is situated on a sprawling site between Tipkenhoog and Ingewai. To ensure it blends sensitively into the village setting, the hotel was deliberately built in the style of a traditional Frisian house, divided into five angular wings. A real eye-catcher is the resulting largest contiguous thatched roof in Europe, covering an area of 5,000m².
Guests stay in an exclusive setting and can choose between 62 luxurious rooms and suites ranging in size from 40 to 200m², as well as 22 apartments in the three apartment buildings. The public areas feature the reception, two restaurants, a tea room, bars, a banquet and conference area, and the spacious spa area. The interior design is characterized by exclusive materials and a contemporary Sylt style. Colors evoking the beach, dunes, and sky in the rooms, combined with exclusive, sustainable materials, create an atmosphere of casual, summery elegance.
A highlight is the 2,000m²wellness area, at the center of which is a 16 m long and 9 m wide swimming pool. In this area, guests can also enjoy five themed saunas, a hammam, the beauty area, as well as relaxation and fitness zones. The fireplace at the front of the building and the spacious, light-filled glass roof over the pool create an exclusive feel-good atmosphere.
The project represents a milestone in contemporary luxury hospitality on Germany’s most beautiful island. Severin’s Resort & Spa was quickly included in the selection of German luxury hotels and received the “Best Hospitality Boutique Hotel” award in 2019.
