Who wants to stay normal when you can stay unique?
With its new lifestyle brand, unique, the Atlantic Hotel Group is captivating an international audience of young people and the young at heart. In collaboration with the architects at OlufemiMoser, they developed a design that combines good aesthetics with practical features—without too many frills. From the model room to the detailed design of the 174 rooms and studios as well as the public areas, Brumann served as the general contractor for the entire hotel interior fit-out. The hotel opened on schedule in the spring of 2022.
The eight-story new building is located directly on the Schweden- and Norwegenkai, offering a stunning view of the fjord from many of the rooms. Designed by Giorgio Gullotta Architekten of Hamburg, the building’s red-and-gray brick facade blends seamlessly into the surrounding historic architecture. Together with the neighboring Atlantic Hotel Kiel and a parking garage, the building forms an urban plaza for the entire ZOB area.
The interior concept combines Nordic style with industrial design to create the perfect ambiance for this location. With room sizes ranging from 19m² inthe Skipper class up to 30m²studios, everyone from business travelers to families will find stylish accommodations here. Extras such as the ultra-comfortable beds or the practical kitchenettes in the studios make even long stays a comfortable experience. The rooms impress with a mix of trendy colors and warm wood floors. In the lobby, the French café RESTEZ!unique, and public areas such as the coworking space, wall paintings, artworks, and sculptures by renowned artists create a modern hotel experience. High-quality furnishings and thoughtful design details give the hotel and the unique brand an unmistakable character.
Guests and visitors will find a consistent commitment to sustainability throughout the hotel: “Stop the Water” toiletries are provided in the bathroom, ingredients for breakfast and snacks come from regional partners, and for those with a hearty appetite, the “L’Osteria” next door delivers pizza and pasta to the room. There is also a strong focus on digital connectivity. For example, there is a guest communication app that conveniently guides guests online from booking through to departure.
In spring 2024, Brumann took over the expansion of the sixth floor. This allowed for the addition of 29 more rooms and suites.
